IELTS Speaking Cue Cards |
The second part of IELTS is cue card and it takes 3 to 4 minutes to complete, including preparation time.
The
examiner provides you a task card that asks you to speak about a specific
topic. The card advises you to explain one aspect of the issue and lists the
topics you should include in your presentation. You'll have one minute to
prepare your presentation, and the examiner will provide you with a pencil and
paper to take notes with.
You
should be able to think of appropriate things to say and structure your speak
so that you can keep talking for 2 minutes if you use the points on the task
card and make notes during the preparation period.
When the
timer runs out, the examiner will ask you to start talking again. They might
ask you one or two questions about the same subject after that.
This section assesses your ability to speak for an extended period of time about a specified topic while using proper language and logically organizing your thoughts. To complete the long turn, you'll need to think on your own experiences.
